Republic Day Celebrated with Patriotic Fervour

The 77th Republic Day was celebrated with great enthusiasm and patriotic fervour at St. Mary’s Convent School, Cantt. The programme was graced by the Chief Guest, Dr. Fr. V. Sebastian, an eminent scholar. The theme of the celebration was “Vande Mataram – 151 Years of National Pride,” commemorating the timeless song that has inspired generations of Indians.

The programme commenced with the unfurling of the National Flag, followed by the National Anthem. Students of Class VII recited the Preamble of the Constitution and a synchronised march past was presented by the students of Classes VI to VIII.

The cultural programme featured patriotic songs, speeches in English and Hindi, a band performance, mass PT, dance presentations,tableau and a short play depicting the spirit and significance of "Democracy  in India ."  The Chief Guest appreciated the students’ performances and encouraged them to imbibe the values of patriotism, unity and dedication to the nation.

The programme concluded with a vote of thanks and patriotic slogans.
